Update

Hi friends and family. Nothing significantly new to report. Moms still resting in ICU. She's off bed rest now which is good. Mom has a sore throat and a lot of mucus build up, so they put her on antibiotics to prevent or stop any infections. I'm not sure how her pain level is doing, I didn't get a chance to talk to her this morning during my visit as she was resting for the most part. She hasn't been able to eat much at all, mostly soft foods, but even then not too much.

Good news is that the fluid drainage from the pleural cavity is decreasing. I haven't talked with the doctors, but to me it means that there is healing going on, or at least the lung has adhered to the wall to prevent the ascites build up. It also sounds like the doctors will be moving forward with the filter in the leg artery; still no word on when that surgery would happen. I will give another update tomorrow for you all, and thank you as always for your continued support.

Mike, I've been out of town this week but am returning tonight. I can bring Yolanda her Starbucks/whole Foods items to her in the AMs starting this weekend or next week if she's up for it. Let me know via a comment on the blog.

Hello Mike thanks for keeping us updated. I would like to visit with your mom tomorrow at lunch time if it is convinient. I will verify on the blog beforehand if she is okay with visitors tomorrow and if she would like a smoothie mabye for lunch :)
